    We are seeking an Accounting Specialist (Staff Accountant). This position will report to the VP of Finance.  and be responsible for executing and leading activities related to the day-to-day Sales and Use Tax and VAT Taxes, with some general accounting duties for account reconciliation, bank account reconciliation and other duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains and manages all domestic and international sales and uses tax, VAT and, GST including coordinating the filing of all tax documents in a timely manner and insuring the resulting liabilities are paid on a timely basis.
    • Assists with financial/tax audits and gathers required audit information.
    • Performs bank reconciliations as needed
    • Ensures financial accounts as assigned are properly supported and reconciled.

    Qualifications

    • At least 1 to 3 years of general accounting experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Willing and available when needed to put in extra time to meet critical deadlines.  
    • Experience with accounting for payables/expenditures and cash in various foreign currencies
    • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with proven use of advance Excel functionality.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of completeness and accuracy.
    • A collaborative, customer-centric approach with the ability to work across functions.
    • Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve complex financial issues.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize financial data to allow management to use this information to better run the business.
